Bears and beers

My friend Jamie drove us out south of the road to Hering Cove around sunset. There's always bears feeding at low tide.
Unfortunately, there was only 1 bear and he was so far up stream he just looked like a big black fluffy spot. Still exciting though!

I totally took this picture! I'm totally a big fat liar!

After that we went to our favorite bar in all of Ketchikan, Hole in the Wall!

We are going to hole in the wall for a quick beer tonight, too!

Mine and johns picture from last year is on the wall!

Waiting for Seth and Gina at the ferry terminal.

We met up with Jack and Valerie at The Sourdough.

Rainier party. Only $4.00 a can. What a deal!

Then we went to The Arctic.

Home of the happy bears.

Rainier/PBR combo.

We met up with Brittany!

Most people that know me know that I love Miller Lite. It's so delicious! However, I paid $5.75 for one in AK. Ouch.

We hiked the rainbird trail.

It was a sunny, beautiful day!!

God bless America! And bald eagles!

Mmm, ice cream!

The wedding reception is tonight. Will write more next week. Happy weekend!

Boat fun!

You know, I just had my blog entry almost complete and then I answered a phone call and lost the whole thing. So, forgive me if this entry isn't very exciting. I'm just gonna write quick.

View after leaving Bellingham.

In the lounge (our favorite place).

I'm being weird, as usual. Love the velvet wallpaper behind me!

Sea maiden.

Great sunset.

North Bar love.

Over on Pennock island. View of Ketchikan and cruise ships.

Ketchikans big mountain. Deer mountain.

Mom being cute.

Can you spot the bald eagle in the tree?

Lounging on the dock.

My best friend Jamie and her new husbands property, and house boat on Pennock!

Way up north (to Alaska!)

Well, folks. Here we go!
I woke up at 6:30 this morning and John took me to the train station. My train pulled into Seattle about 12:15 and my mom and her husband picked me up and we all went to Bellingham. I'm currently on the ferry with my mom in the observation lounge waiting to leave the terminal.

Who's excited? I am! Check out the Columbia behind us!

We have a great view from our cabin. Spoiled!

My moms pet grizzlies.

Yeah, we're precious.

Hair

Once upon a time I had short blonde hair.

The end.
Just kidding.

My cat jumped on the bed to sleep next to me and she decided to use my foot as leverage to get up.

This hurts.
Also, why are my feet so dirty?

Okay, now it's the end.
The end.

Mosquito bites and Audrey the cat

A friend, Jeff, is out of town for the weekend and asked me to stop by his house to check on his cats.
Hi, Jeff!
Oh. Guess he didn't hear me.

He has two cats, Iris and Audrey.
Audrey is a cute little thing! Playful and talkative.

Aww, good girl!

Looking out the window.

I tried calling for Iris, but, she never came out of hiding. Maybe I have a scary voice?

This is what she looks like:

Whoa, cute!

In other news. I went camping last weekend at Herman Creek Campground in the gorge. I got eaten alive by mosquitos.

Here's a picture. Be warned, it may make you feel like vomiting.

Ouch!

I'm going camping again this weekend at beautiful Waldo Lake. More on that next week.

Have a great weekend!

Bruises and a plant

Well, on Monday I had an embarrassing, painful moment at work. I had made some nachos for a customer and didn't realize that as I was bringing it out, a jalapeño fell off the plate onto the concrete floor. A few minutes later, 2 customers came to the bar to order a drink. As I walked over to help them I slipped on the jalapeño and did the splits and landed HARD on my left knee. My pride was bruised more than my knee at the time but now, my knee is gnarly looking!

I guess it's kind of hard to see in these pictures, but it's ugly and hurts! Damn jalapenos!

In other news, if you've read my blog previously you may remember my struggles with trying to grow a sweet potato plant. My friends, patience has paid off! My potato finally sprouted and now has some beautiful little leaves! I'm very proud.

I also did a little shopping recently and bought these gems...

Hair brush.

Fringe wolf shirt.

Randomness

I've been looking through my pictures on my phone and decided to post a blog entry on random stuff that's happened to me lately. Here goes!

This is probably the ugliest and best thrift store art I've ever encountered.

I don't have anything against Dirk Nowitski really, but myself and several friends like to call him "Dirkenstein" because he resembles Frankenstein quite a bit. This is my version. Sorry Johanna!

I moved recently and went through boxes I hadn't gone through in so many years. Postcard from Seth from '99.

Also, when moving, I wiped down a cupboard that I had stored craft supplies in. Glitter sponge!

I got pretty melancholy when it was my last day in my place. I'd been there for just over 6 years. The whole time I've lived in Portland! Sad face by the fireplace. I look remarkably short here, but that's only because the fireplace is huge!

Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter is a total babe now!

More cat cuteness.

My sweet potato I bought MONTHS ago is finally starting to sprout!!

This is a terrible picture of me, but on the right is my favorite dog breed and dog in the world Oliver. I love him!

Sorry for the random photos, hope you don't mind! :D
